Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust Elects New Secretary

Members of the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust elected Ian Young as Secretary at the Trust’s Annual General Meeting held at Edington Village Hall on Saturday, April 25.

Ian’s appointment follows the resignation of Roger Newport who held the post for the previous 12 months. Ian, a teacher living in Hampshire, has been a member of the Trust for over 40 years and is a long standing committee member. His interest in the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway stems from having been brought up on a regular diet of S&D trains and locomotives at Highbridge. Godfrey Baker continues as Chairman of the Trust.

A report on the Annual General Meeting will be posted on the Website at a future date.
