Trust features at major model exhibition


Robin Pearson welcomes visitors to the Trust exhibit at Thornbury

The Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust was pleased to be given the opportunity to take a stand at the 2008 Association of Model Railway Clubs major exhibition, held at Severnside Leisure Centre, Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, over the recent Bank Holiday weekend.

There were over 70 exhibits at the show, ranging from model layouts and trade stands to societies like the Trust. This year's event was a bit special, being the fortieth anniversary of the first, and the Trust was invited because its predecessor body had been represented all that time ago in 1968. Pete Waterman was guest of honour.

As a result of talking to visitors, we expect to welcome a number of new members, as well as having brought the S&D alive for many others.
