Special Train Success
The Trust’s annual special train ran on the West Somerset Railway on 7 June. The train was as usual hauled by 88.
Under the terms of the agreement about the use of 88 by the railway, the West Somerset Railway provides the loco, train and crew for an annual day trip for the Trust’s members and friends. 88 (BR 53808), built in 1925 for the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway, and one of two survivors of a class of 11 engines, is owned by the Trust.
This year over a hundred people had the benefit of a glorious day on the West Somerset coast.
Below are a selection of photographs taken during the day.
