Trust makes a splash at Glastonbury
This headline came true as the waters rose under the marquee base mat at the Museums in Somerset Roadshow in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey on Bank Holiday Monday.
The day had dawned fair, and over two thousand people had entered the gates to the Roadshow when the heavens opened in mid afternoon. The Trust team had to react quickly to rescue the sales goods from a drenching!
Before the change in the weather the Chairman had welcomed good numbers of local people who remembered the S&D in Glastonbury. Among them was the Town Crier, here seen in conversation with the Chairman. The Trust's exhibit was one of over forty representing local museums in the county.
Once again thanks are due to the team giving up their bank holiday to the Roadshow: the Chairman, Andrew Marsh, Roger Newport and Robin Pearson.
