AGM Report and Competition Results
Business Meeting
52 members of the Trust attended the Annual General Meeting held on 22 April 2006.
The Annual report and accounts were adopted. The tabled motion to increase
the subscription for a Senior Member by £2 was amended from the floor such that all categories of membership subscriptions should be raised by £2. The amended motion was passed. The increased subscriptions will apply to all members joining or renewing after 1 August 2006. The date of the 2007 AGM is Saturday 28 April.
Management Changes
Officers
- Graham Hooper agreed to be re-nominated as Honorary Secretary and was re-elected unopposed.
- Upon the retirement of Bill Gates as Honorary Museum Curator, John M Smith was nominated and elected unopposed.
- Ted Goater remained in post as Honorary Treasurer for the forthcoming year. The Chairman, Andrew Naish, continues to serve for his third year.
Committee Members
- Ian Briggs retired from the Committee, but will continue to serve as Membership Secretary.
- Roger Newport and Bill Gates were newly elected to the Committee as Management Trustees.
- Others re-elected were Godfrey Baker, Rosie Jacob, George Moon, Brian Smith and Ian Young.
Competition results
The MJ Palmer modelling trophy was won by Andy Watson for his locomotive model of 4422, with rake of wagons.
The modelling cup was not awarded, owing to a lack of entries.
The M J Palmer Photographic Prize was won by Paul Sandy with his photograph
of 4F 44422 and 7F 53809 on a down passenger at Kingswood, WSR, on 22 March 2006. Paul's entry was chosen from 10 other photographs from four entrants.
