Index > News > SDRT June 2000 News - S & D Reunion weekend at Washford On Saturday, 3 June, the annual S & DRT excursion on the West Somerset Railway took place. The eight coach train, hauled by Dinmore Manor, was well-filled with people, excellent ploughman's lunches and jars of Cotleigh Tawny ale. After 4½ hours in Minehead, the returning travellers were revived with cream teas! On Sunday, 4 June, the S & D Railway Trust played host to over 100 former employees of the S & D railway at Washford.

At a special ceremony in the afternoon, Kilmersdon was renamed Mike Palmer, in memory of the Trust's former Honorary Secretary who died in May 1999. This locomotive steams again over the weekend of 10/11 June at Washford as part of the WSR's 21st Anniversary celebrations. Do visit!
