An illustrated account of the history and subsequent fate of the Pullman trains introduced in the 1960s, largely the predecessors of today’s highly successful HST fleet. With Mick Hayes. 7 July 2008 - Title to be confirmed. A return visit with more sights and sounds from the steam era with Simon Foote. 1 September 2008: "Return to Tavistock?" John Chapman, of Kilbride Properties Ltd will give a presentation on the ambitious scheme to extend the Tamar Valley line from Bere Alston, back to Tavistock, in return for permission to build many new homes at the town. The talk will be supported with slides of the line in former days, provided by Bob Bunyar. 3 November 2008: "The End of the Bristol Trams" An illustrated talk on the last years of the Bristol Tramway system, by Peter Davey. 5 January 2009 "Narrow gauge railways of Wiltshire" "I didn't know there were any" you might say. (I did!!) Well come along and discover for yourself some hidden, secretive, and unseen gems, not so far from home.
